Doesn’t matter cause republicans will always blame poor people for their own decisions in life rather than how the system is set up for minorities to fail. Regardless the real issue isn’t race, the bottom line is rich people have too much power in this country and aren’t held accountable for their unchecked greed.

While we are all fighting over pennies the actual plutocratic globalist problem that is corporatism us found the one percent doubling their money. Pretending that current economic potential is at all limited in the manner it was before is absurd. If you have a cell phone and can read then you are able to take advantage of the limitless potential of various economic possibilities that can in no way shape or form be aware of your intersectional qualities: if you have a few hundred bucks there are ways to flip that and make sales on platforms like eBay and the profits can be exponentially increased with generally little more than an understanding of something like basic electronics repair where you can take trash from the dump and sell it. I took a 20 dollar box of junk and sold it for 8k. Until I began doing this I couldn’t find work due to my background because of who my father was.

The problem is that we're in an era where all races are barely keeping our heads above water and it's getting worse for everyone, regardless of race. So, if America decided to finally help poor people but only the small percent of poor people who are of African decent, will there also come a time when we finally decide to address the growing wealth gap for every race or will it be too late because we're now entering Hunger Games? We're living in a dumpster fire and unfortunately the mistakes of our past can only be fixed, now, by helping everyone, not just the few who were hurt the most. BTW we just added billions to the military because, again, Hunger Games is the depressing nightmare we're heading towards. All of us. You're saying we should fix our dangling pinky toe because it was injured first but not sure what to do about our bloody severed dangling leg the toe is connected to.

If the government can get away with what they did in Waco to my father and siblings and simultaneously pay one of their own guys millions of dollars for mental damages over calling him a liar about warning them to call it off which is gross negligence and proves the entire situation was avoidable, how can justice be found anywhere? They broadcast the murder of my half siblings and torture of a vindictive and reckless nature and were found to be lying more times than I can count, but have we received a semblance of justice? Nope… just gaslit. My grandmother is still unable to retire. They destroyed our assets and coerced false and twisted confessions… Hey, fun fact: “if the branch davidians were black… blah blah blah.” Do some research! There shouldn't be any kind of running out the clock on an issue like this, and acting like you can is pretty abhorrent, to say the least. Just because the US ran out the clock on reparations for slavery by not doing anything until all those affected are dead doesn't mean we should just shrug and do nothing about it. If you hate the idea of reparations because you didn't take part in anything that would be cause for reparations, I get the feeling, but think about this: You shouldn't be mad at the idea of reparations, you should be mad at the piece of shits that came before that caused the problems and/or did little to nothing to fix the problems and/or repay the damages.

So do I have an appetite to contribute tax dollars to make amends for the actions of other people's ancestors? Not really. Treating people differently due to the color of their skin is racist, but its totally OK if the gesture is positive for the person of different ethnicity?

I resent Ayn Rand projecting that we all think like her. Yet, I appreciate she seems to be honest about herself compared to other people who feel the same way as her who pretend to have an altruistic vision but obviously they do not. Yet, there a lot of people who do have an altruistic vision, are marginalized by her type of projections and need guidance to advance that altruistic base in themselves but Ayn Rand just promotes one archetype assuming we are all the same. Her philosophy is extremely damaging for some but helps others. The "damaging" part is that Ayn Rand makes these people think that everyone feels like she does and we are all different. Too many people are limited and hurt by her "one size fits all" philosophy. There are very few descendants of Frank Lloyd Wright but if you find them and ask them about Ayn Rand, they will be hard to find because they like to stay in the "shadows" but, they all have different political perspectives and none are like what Ayn Rand tried to insist FLW was. Frank Lloyd Wright grew up in Wisconsin and if you know history, Wisconsin functioned very well under their unique "progressive capitalistic" government and it was nothing like Ayn Rand's philosophy. So they thought that she was just a stupid sociopath. She was a relentless stalker of that family and wanted publicity for her book. Her stalking was around establishing a paradigm to prove her unfound philosophy of generalizing human nature to prove "all humans" think like her; which I agree works for some and that is great but not for everyone and definitely not for Frank Lloyd Wright or not even for most people. Her vision of society is extremely limited and not what actually works for everyone and not a holistic philosophy. We need to maximize everyone's potential and she just represents a fraction of people. Ayn Rand was a sociopath for sure. If you identify with her philosophy, that is fine and in no way means you are a sociopath but realize that not everyone functions in that way. We need ALL types collectively as well as people who act individually. Just open you minds and realize that our society needs everyone and we all think differently. Additionally, that is what our economy needs too but without the sociopathy and ego like Ayn Rand. Ayn Rand had nothing real or factual to base her ideas besides it applying to a small portion of humans who choose that philosophy because it works for them. I am just saying if you like her ideas and relate to it, we need people like you but we need people with all different perspectives and she does not represent all human perspectives, like her sociopathic mind processes things. We need to accept all people who contribute to our society, not just her type. So learn how to identify the "fakes" and understand the truth and not everyone is pretending to be humanistic to advance their selfish motives. Its obvious, just the mere perspective that everyone is like Ayn and the hypocrites who are also actually like Ayn, are just pretending to be altruistic but just because people pretend to be humanistic, that is not the actuality. She does call out "the fakes" who do exist and it is a problem but that does not apply to most people. It only applies to people who became successful based on their humanistic charade and without a doubt that is extremely damaging. If you are angry about that you have every right to be angry but there are people who actually are like how the fake humanists portray themselves. The altruistic fakes do get away with it because they can fool the "real" people whose perception that people think about others first like they do. It is sad but Ayn Rand is waste of anyone's time.

You want to talk about reparations? I want to talk about that statement by Biden stating its "for everyone" John here argues that it should be given only to african americans - on the basis that this group was excluded from home ownership - so they now should be given that option. I think the fallacy here is that because one subgroup is affected over proportionally they are the only ones affected. The financial advantage of owning a house is drastic, and can IMO rightfully be seen as unfair if heritable (which is where i would start fixing the law) Therefore all those who profited from those loans back then are now better off. While those who do not have a home are all equally screwed. If we were to now make a law that gives something to one subgroup and not the other we would simply introduce another discrimination that doesn't compensate for anything. We shouldn't give money to those who already have it, and instead to those who do not have it, REGARDLESS of their color of skin, religion, orientation or any other group filter. If we don't do that then we will be telling some people that due to the color of their skin, even thou they are in a terrible position because of the choices of others decades ago they will be discriminated against - and that's just not right. So yea i disagree with you there John, it should be for everyone who doesn't have a house. Because those are the people who are now screwed because of the choices in the past. We should move past identifying the well being of an individual based on the well being of its filter groups. Just because some individuals of a group are well off doesn't help those who are not. Just like Mitch saying that electing Obama fixes discrimination is BS.

Yet another piece of miseducation by the uninformed for the uninformed. It is downright shocking the number of errors in this piece...it looks more like sophomoric propaganda than anything remotely informative. Myth 1: Indian Land Sales. The topic is hyper-complex and l believe beyond the scope of Oliver's limited interest in the topic and understanding. Lets just say that Indians sold numerous lands multiple times for various reasons that are beyond the scope here to detail in any real depth. However, if you believe the liberal portrait of natives as simple innocent "nature children" that is itself a ridiculous racial caricature and insulting to all parties involved in those exchanges. Myth 2: Who was running the evil federal government when the Federal Housing Administration, GI Bill, Model Cities, & Community Reinvestment Act were enacted and put into place? Answer: Democrats. But he fails to mention any of that. Myth 3: How much is land worth at any certain time? Again, this is complex due to various factors including both direct (Building: number/size/condition and land size) and indirect factors (zoning laws, transportation access, and nearby uses...school, transit, and shopping etc) and yes even future buildout potential in the area. In short, land is worth what you pay for it at the point in time you buy it (or current value for taking purposes) and not the future full potential that it might be worth someday - ie I want to pay a 1908 price for land and then demand its full 2021 price or even 2050 value assuming as part of your calculation that you didn't sell it earlier. Oliver's reasoning that Levittown prices moved from $40,000 to $350,000 as proof of his theory is flawed as well. Housing price appreciation has been different for various homes and in different areas of the country - rust belt cities in the 1980s or financial crisis in 2008 saw housing values drop as well. Furthermore, for someone who seems to see racism everywhere, it is rather interesting that he seems very comfortable doing the same thing to a mayor of a fine New Jersey community. He also does not make clear that all racial deed restrictions were rendered illegal long ago. Oliver's case for reparations is weak and not really directed at the source of the problem. If the Democratic Party ran on and enacted failed federal policies, why don't they simply pay for it by themselves? Why don't Democrats take responsibility by paying a Democratic Reparations Tax until all their victims are paid in full? That would deprive some of them from talking out of both sides of the mouth on this issue. Lastly, if they really want to reconcile why don't they simple start with an apology for the policy screw-ups over the years - and simply say they failed starting in 1933 and onward that they are not experts in any thing but wasting money.
