I really dont understand why people are romanticizing this situation by saying "live long long sky king". This makes no sense at all. Even if this man was going through some tough times, this could've turned into a crash with more than one fatalities. I dont think people would be happy about that now would they.

I grew up in the antelope valley of Southern California, so I’m quite familiar with Fox Field. I am totally blind, but I’ve been fascinated with aviation and communications since I was 12. I even have the KWJF Awos Number in my phone so I can quickly check the weather there, since that’s another fascination of mine. One thing I was curious about though, why did Fox Tower change frequency from 120.3 which it had been for years, to the current frequency of 118.525? Great videos, and keep them coming.

I remember my student solo to a controlled airport (Huntsville, AL). I checked in with tower and he asked if I had a twin cessna in sight...I replied affirmative and was instructed to "follow the cessna, cleared to land". For a long time I thought the controller didn't believe I could find the airport on my own so had me follow the leader. Then learned this is one of the most basic/routine type approaches around.

Those commenting the pilot seeming confident based on radios. The only thing I’d like to add is at least with our crew coordination, we tend to brief pilot not on the controls taking radios. Who knows if he was on the controls or if a lower time, less experienced pilot was at the helm. Regardless, rest in peace to the aviators and those on board.

THIS IS BS - THAT IS CALLED LANDING ON A GRASS STRIP, YOU COULD EVEN SEE THE TIRE MARKS ON THE GROUND (THAT IS WHY THE GROUND WAS SO SMOOTH)! SIR YOU NEED TO LABEL SIMULATED POWER OUT LANDING ON GRASS RUNWAY. THIS IS EXTREMELY BAD FOR YOUNG PILOTS WHO WILL BELIEVE THAT LANDING IN A FIELD WILL BE THIS SMOOTH. I BELIEVE YOU NEED TO CORRECT NOW OR ELSE THIS FOOTAGE WILL BE TURNED OVER TO THE FAA. THIS REALITY TYPE OF FOOTAGE TO GET 1.3M UZcrone VIEWS IS NO PLACE FOR AVIATION!!!!!!! EITHER LABEL IT NOW OR TOMORROW IT GETS TURNED OVER, AGAIN THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR YOUNG PILOTS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAME OF YOURSELF!!!

Great job by the PIC, absolute cluster-fuck on behalf of everyone else. ATC had no idea how to empower a student pilot to deal with the emergency, and completely dropped the ball on getting important information. Basically ignored him when he said his "place was doing a lot of funny things". Shitty performance by his instructor who was seemingly completely unaware of what his student was doing and basically incognito. It should be a requirement that the instructor either be on the frequency or at least give a contact number to the tower. Nice landing

I heard everything clearly. TWR not waiting on confirmation on "hold short 22R" knowing that TWR was about to clear another aircraft for takeoff, is an issue. But... maybe that doesn't matter and it's more important to know the answer to a gate number question.

There is a way to take lightweight black plastic trash bags and make hot air balloons, just using the sun as the fuel source. I’ve seen them made in the shape of flying saucers. I wonder if this isn’t what they’re seeing? A solar hot air ballon in the shape of a person flying a jet pack.

6 soat oldin
Colt10mm Security
Colt10mm Security

So I’m not buying the jet-pack at 5,000 feet! Those jet packs only have about 1 minute of fuel total time and he’d have to climb to 5,000’ in less than one minute, then have enough fuel to land during that same 1-minute time frame. Even if he ascended at 2,000 feet per minute, that means it would take over two minutes to get to 5,000 msl, then have enough fuel to get back on the ground. Bullshit. There’s a reason why jet packs were never real viable options for military use, because of their poor flight time endurance. I’m thinking the pilots are seeing maybe a balloon in the shape of a manikin, dressed up like it’s wearing a jet pack. I fly law enforcement helicopters in LA and in the Bravo daily. I’ll believe it when I see it.
